Ron Milestone, MD
In over 35 years of practice in Psychiatry, I have engaged with patients in many varied clinical settings, and learned from my experiences with all of them. At the heart of every clinical event is a personal encounter between care provider and receiver which must honor both and be open to the human strivings of both.
I have provided care to general hospital patients, nursing home patients, liaison consultation to hospital staff, troubled youth, young adults seeking to find their place in the world, families in crisis, couples trying to understand their struggles, severely troubled hospitalized children and adolescents, elders facing their changing lives, people wounded in love, sexual offenders, addicts, mental health professionals, executives, and civic leaders.
I have used medications, vitamins and herbal products, psychotherapy, story telling, adventure challenges and life tasks, group sessions, and every blend and variation I could conceive that might possibly be helpful to whoever was seeking help. In addition to my clinical experience, I utilize knowledge from reading and research in the various fields of bio-medicine, Psychiatry, Psychology and the social Sciences, and anywhere else I might learn.
My work at Gelbart and Associates concentrates on outpatient services including carefully designed Psychopharmacological interventions, and the blending of Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology for maximum effect.
I offer consultations for other practitioners seeking help in work with difficult clients.
I engage patients aged 12 to 65, but especially enjoy working with younger persons, their families and significant others.
I have taught Psychiatry Residents and provided clinical supervision for a wide range of mental health clinicians.
