Phyllis Dworsky, Ph.D.
Dr. Phyllis E. Dworsky is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been a psychotherapist in the South Bay area for the past ten years. She received her training at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, with an emphasis on depth psychology and the philosophy of Carl Jung. She is also classically trained in Psychoanalytical, Object Relations, Self Psychology and Cognitive/Behavioral theory.
Dr. Dworsky offers both a behavioral approach to address immediate concerns that are sabotaging goals and peace of mind and dynamic insight based therapy. She is a certified Hypnotist and has extensive post-doctoral training in couples and marriage counseling. Dr. Dworsky has served on the educational panel for the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence focusing on the link between Anger and Addiction and Anger Management techniques. Other areas of specialty include adolescent issues, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and grief counseling.
With a Master’s Degree in Literature and Creative Writing, a history of community activism, and twenty plus years of parenting, Dr. Dworsky brings a wealth of imagination as well as professional experience to the life stories of those she serves.
