Marriage and Family Therapist
Jennifer Bernhoft is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She graduated with her Bachelors of Arts degree from Lourdes University with a major in psychology, and from Antioch University with a Masters of Arts in clinical psychology, with a specialization in child studies.
Jennifer completed her internship with South Bay Center for counseling, in which she implemented therapy sessions with children, adolescents and parents at school, home and clinic based settings. Post licensure, she transitioned to Del Amo Hospital where she conducted assessments for psychiatric inpatient hospitalization. Jennifer was later employed at Center For Discovery, a dual-diagnosis residential facility for adolescents, as a Primary Therapist. There, she implemented intensive individual, family and group therapy. Focus was placed on supporting clients through the recovery process, improving family dynamics and planning for reintegration into a healthy lifestyle during the post-residential period. In her current practice, Jennifer is effective in integrating the skills gained through her treatment history into her work with children, adolescents, adults and families.
Jennifer offers a warm, enthusiastic, and nonjudgemental platform in order to facilitate comfortability throughout the therapeutic process. She places focus on identification of contributing factors to symptoms, assimilation of healthy coping strategies, self-esteem building and strengthening of communication skills.
