Anxiety is similar to fear, but fear generally has an identifiable source. People who suffer from anxiety disorders feel both the physical and emotional symptoms of fear without being able to identify or name the reason they feel that way. They often know their anxiety is irrational, but cannot reduce it.

Anxiety is one of the most treatable psychological problems. The combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychotropic medications when indicated, usually allow one to regain a healthy, fulfilling life.
