| As we know, the teen years are challenging for adolescents and parents, and are filled with episodes of moodiness, anger, and rebellion. For some, however, this natural developmental period becomes a time of crisis, with anger and inappropriate behavior spiraling out of control, and may be signs of disruptive disorders. Oppositional defiant disorders apply to teenagers whose symptoms include uncontrolled temper, resentfulness and resistance to discipline that do not violate the rights of others. Teens with conduct disorders exhibit many of the same symptoms, but constantly violate the rights of others or the laws by stealing, vandalizing, or harming people or animals.
