What are the signs and symptoms of ADHD?
A child with ADHD behaves in the following ways:
- Fidgets, squirms, or seems restless
- Has difficulty remaining seated
- Is easily distracted
- Blurts out answers in class
- Has difficulty following instructions
- Shifts from one uncompleted task to another
- Has difficulty playing quietly
- Does not seem to listen
- Talks excessively
- Interrupts or intrudes on others
Problems children with ADHD experience:
- Academic difficulties
- Behavior problems
- Social/peer difficulties
- Self esteem difficulties
