What are the signs and symptoms of ADHD?

A child with ADHD behaves in the following ways:

• Fidgets, squirms, or seems restless
• Has difficulty remaining seated
• Is easily distracted
• Blurts out answers in class
• Has difficulty following instructions
• Shifts from one uncompleted task to another
• Has difficulty playing quietly
• Does not seem to listen
• Talks excessively
• Interrupts or intrudes on others

Problems children with ADHD experience:

• Academic difficulties
• Behavior problems
• Social/peer difficulties
• Self esteem difficulties
